Meet our Pastors

Dr. Ric Veal, Senior Pastor

Ric graduated from Clarke Central High School in Athens, Georgia in 1972 and attended the University of Georgia from 1972 – 1974.  From there, he earned degrees from North Georgia Baptist Theological Seminary that includes a Bachelor of Biblical Studies, a Master of Divinity and a Doctorate of Ministry.

He has been married to his wife Robin since 1975.  Their son Ryan, and his wife Amy have two children, Emily Kate and Ava Grace.

Ric was called by God to begin his ministry in 1980 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Neese, Georgia.  Since that time he has pastored churches in Georgia and Tennessee.  He was called to Arlington Baptist Church in Arlington, Georgia as Senior Pastor in June, 2019.

Ric believes the Bible is the literal, inerrant Word of God. He emphasizes in his ministry that all believers in Jesus Christ have the responsibility to grow in their relationship with Jesus through prayer, bible study and personal worship.  He also believes all believers in Jesus Christ have the additional responsibility of sharing their salvation with those who are in their sphere of influence. According to Matthew 28:19-20 all believers in Jesus Christ should pray for, contribute to and participate in the sending forth of the gospel into the entire world through home and foreign missions.

Ric and Robin invite you to visit Arlington Baptist Church. It is their hope you will connect with God in our worship service and grow in Christ in one of our small group classes. They encourage you to serve Jesus Christ in the Arlington Community and around the world through the ministry opportunities that are available at Arlington Baptist Church.

Ryan Lancaster, Youth Pastor

Ryan is from Spartanburg, SC and believes he was blessed to have grown up in a Christian environment.  From the time he was a small child, he felt the importance of following Jesus’ will for his life, and in his junior year of high school, began to feel the call to ministry.  He was drawn to Youth Ministry as he believes the teenage years are a crucial time for spiritual development.

When he graduated high school in 2008, he began his studies towards his BA in Youth Ministry at North Greenville University in Tigerville, SC.  Upon graduation in 2012, Ryan moved to Wake Forest, NC to begin his Masters of Divinity in Christian Ministry at Southeastern Seminary.  During that time, he worked as a lay leader in one of the local churches.

Ryan began his work as Youth Pastor here at Arlington Baptist Church in June 2017 and is looking forward to serving the youth and their families.  During his free time, he likes working out in a gym or participating in competitive sports.  He also likes listening to music and watching Netflix.
